Do you accept insurance?
No. I am an out-of-network provider. Clients pay for sessions as they occur, and I provide monthly statements that can be submitted to insurance for partial reimbursement. The amount depends on the plan.
How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
Having a phone conversation gives me a chance to find out what you want to work on in therapy and for you to get an impression of my communication style. We can discuss any questions you may have, and you decide whether you want to schedule a first appointment.
How does online therapy work?
I use a videoconference platform calls doxy.me, which is easy to use and made for telehealth appointments. You need a device connected to the internet, and I provide instructions for how to connect.
Can we meet in-person? Not at this time. All sessions occur online and will for the foreseeable future.
Is this confidential?
The content of sessions is kept confidential. However, there are some exceptions that relate to imminent risk; for example, if someone is actively suicidal, homicidal, or abusing a child or vulnerable elder, there are actions I will be required to take.
