FAQ

Thank you for your interest in my practice. If you have a question that is not listed, please reach out to me and I will do my best to respond in a timely way.

How do I make an appointment?
The first step is to contact me by phone or email, and we will set up a brief phone consultation.

How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
Having a phone conversation gives me a chance to find out what you want to work on in therapy and for you to learn how I work with clients like you. We can discuss any questions you may have, and you decide whether you want to schedule a first appointment.

How does online therapy work?
I use a videoconference platform calls doxy.me, which is easy to use and made for telehealth appointments. You need a device connected to the internet, and I provide instructions for how to connect.

Can we meet in-person?

Not at this time. Since the beginning of the pandemic, all sessions occur online and will for the foreseeable future.

Is this confidential?
The content of sessions is kept confidential. However, there are some exceptions that relate to imminent risk; for example, if someone is actively suicidal, homicidal, or abusing a child or vulnerable elder.
